5 Effects of Dehydration on the Body

Fatigue

Feeling tired? Dehydration is the primary cause of fatigue and headaches so before popping an Ibuprofen drink a bottle of water and see how you feel.

Hunger

Thirst is a weak mechanism and can often be mistaken for hunger. So next time you're feeling like snacking; down a few glasses of water because you just may be thirsty and not realize it.

Weight Gain

Dehydration slows metabolism. The next time you start complaining about your metabolism ask yourself if you've been drinking an adequate amount of water, chances are if you aren't, it could be why your weight won't budge.

Muscle and Joint Pain

Hydrating the body can significantly decrease muscle and joint pain. If you are feeling achy and are not consuming the recommended amount of water then this could be why your body isn't feeling its best. If you're working out and not getting enough water this could make those aches and pains even worse.

Memory and Focus

If you're consistently dehydrated this can adversely affect memory, concentration, and focus. So you could be constantly misplacing your keys or unable to focus on work projects because you aren't hydrating your body.
